This recipe is so easy and delicious! Take advantage of the freshly picked apples by making a batch of this!
What You’ll Need
- Crock pot
- 8 to 12 apples
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Water
- Knife and peeler
What To Do
- Put 1 cup of water and the juice of half a lemon in the crock pot.
- One at a time, peel* , core and slice each apple. Toss each one in the water with juice to reduce browning.

- Cover and cook on high, stirring every hour until it looks done.

That’s it! You can either leave it “chunky” or you can puree it with an immersion blender, food processor or regular blender.
*You can leave the peel on for extra nutrition and color!!

Hi Justyn, I’m Anne from Life on the Funny Farm (http://annesfunnyfarm.blogspot.com), and I’m visiting from Natural Living Mondays.
Oh my gosh, are you kidding me? Is it really this simple? I will definitely be doing this. And pinning it. Thanks for sharing!
Anyway, it’s nice to “meet” you! Hope you can pop by my blog sometime to say hi…
Hi Anne! So glad to “meet” you, too! Yep, it’s that easy. I was so surprised when I went hunting for a recipe on-line. There are several different methods, so I just used the part of each recipe that I thought made sense and it worked beautifully! I’m making another batch in the next couple of days!!
I’d love to hear what you think after you make it. And thanks for pinning!! I’ll pop over to explore your blog soon (love the blog name, by the way)!

Thanks for the comment, Tiffany! It really is easy! This next batch we’ll be leaving the skin on and then pureeing with the immersion blender for pink applesauce. I’m sure it will be a big hit, too.
Looks so delish and easy. My son loves applesauce, should make this versus buying it. Thank you for linking up and sharing with us at Kids in the Kitchen and Healthy 2Day Wednesdays. Blessings, Carrrie
Thanks for hosting! It really is easy and the hungry masses are clamoring for the next batch! It’s even better than store-bought, in my opinion- and I love the store-bought!
Blessings!
