Picture Framing Inspo

February 8, 2021 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

Whenever you have a photo or artwork you want to display, you have to answer the question “what frame should I put it in?”. It’s not always easy to know what style frame would work best. In fact choosing the perfect frame can be an art in itself.

You want the frame to enhance what you’re displaying, without taking attention away from it. Plus, you also want the frame to complement your existing decor and feel like you.

A little inspiration can go a long way. Whatever style of decor you have in your home, there’s a beautiful frame style to fit in and complement the look perfectly. Check out the ideas below for picture framing in Perth to get your creative juices flowing!

Hamptons Style Decor

Hamptons style is defined by a bright, whitewashed palette with a nod to chic beach vibes. It usually feels relaxed, effortless and full of light.

When choosing a frame for a Hampton home, go with warm whites, coastal blues and sleek silvers. Take inspiration from shells, driftwood and waves and play with textures that mimic what you would find in a coastal environment.

Hamptons style picture frames are usually attractive pieces that aren’t afraid of attention. It’s ok to have quite a thick, detailed frame, especially if the artwork is more simple.

Artwork in a Hamptons frame works well as a feature piece for the wall, while smaller frames can be used throughout the home to add character and charm.

Modern Style Decorating

Modern style homes are typically simple, neat and uncluttered spaces. Lines tend to be clean and straight rather than curved and there’s a lack of embellishment. Modern style finds its beauty in simplicity.

When looking for a frame for your modern style home, choose a simple, unobtrusive style. Slim frames tend to work well as they leave all the talking up to the artwork.

Stick with black, white or natural, unpainted wooden frames. Likewise, keep the matting simple – white is often the safest choice. Play with the size of the mat board and consider having more white space around your artwork.

Modern style spaces often look great with one or two large artworks displayed on a bare wall. Gallery walls can look very impressive too. Just be sure to keep the colour range small – black and white photographs, line drawings and simple prints all work well.

1920s Art Deco Style

1920s Art Deco style celebrates the glitz and glam of the Roaring ‘20s. It’s defined by rich colours, striking patterns and high attention to detail. Think decadent pieces mixed with zigzag patterns and shiny materials.

Choosing an art deco inspired frame can be tricky because of the amount of choice. For a classic look, go for gold with some fancy flourishes. Texture and geometric patterns are a great way to incorporate a hint of decadence.

Shiny metal materials are a good choice and mixing materials can work too. If you’re not sure what to frame, a framed mirror could be the way to go. Big and bold statement pieces tend to work best in art deco spaces.

Bohemian Style Decor

Bohemian style decor embodies a sense of freedom and self expression. There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to boho style, giving you the opportunity to experiment and get playful with your style choices.

Common trends include using warm earthy colours as a base and then accenting with fiery statement colours like purple, orange or bright blue. Patterns are embraced and mixed together with natural materials and textures.

When choosing a bohemian style picture frame, look around at your existing decor and try to tie in elements from there. Don’t be afraid of colour and thicker statement frames. Alternatively, stick with natural wooden frames that complement the loud and colourful piece of art.

Try hanging your picture frames in an asymmetrical way. Create a gallery wall and incorporate other unframed artwork like a basket, macrame hanging or persian rug.

Miami Decor Style

Miami style decor is sleek and minimalist, but it’s not afraid of popping colours and incorporating bold art pieces. A sense of luxury is achieved by layering textures and adding small contrasting details.

Picture frames in a Miami inspired home should be clean and simple with sharp lines. These will often provide an elegant contrast with the bold choice of artwork.

Don’t be afraid to go large with your artwork. Miami style spaces tend to be clutter free, focusing on the big details rather than having lots of little elements. Try one single frame on an open wall, or a series of three matching pieces.

Cottage Style Decor

Cottage style interiors tend to use soft colours and a hint of feminine patterns and textures. Think florals, ruffles and earthy wooden elements.

Natural wooden picture frames complement cottage style decor beautifully. Vintage inspired shapes and textures work well when choosing a frame, but minimalist styles can also work a charm too.

Use a series of small picture frames in the hallway for a personal touch or try hanging a large framed artwork above the fireplace. Unframed stretched canvas artworks sometimes also work well with cottage style decor.

Whatever style your home is decorated in, there’s a picture framing style to complement it beautifully!

How to Up Your Sticks and Move Your Business to California

February 2, 2021 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

The world of business is rapidly changing, but one thing never really changes: California. What on Earth does that mean you ask? Well, ever since Americans started moving there in the early 19th century, it has been a place of prosperity. After all, people only started traveling en masse to find their riches in gold. Over time, the Golden State became the most populated State in the Union, being the home to most celebrities and the film industry as a whole. Moving into the 21st century, California still hasn’t failed to deliver as the home for many Silicon valley tech companies like Google or Apple. Many executives see the largest international shipping airports, as well as ease of access to both Asian markets and mainland North America as major reasons to move their company over. One thing is for sure: California is always a safe bet in the world of business.

Why people move their businesses to California

The business down there is a-boomin’ and the numbers don’t lie. If California were a country, it would be the world’s fifth largest economy. More than 50 Fortune 500 companies are located there, and it has access to two of the most important sea ports in the world. All this sounds appealing, but what’s in it for your business to move there?

First off, the State has one of the best tax credit programs in the Union. There’s tax write offs for dozens of types of businesses, like research companies, or low income housing builders, high paying brands, and more! On top of that, many businesses are completely exempt from paying any taxes at all! This is great news if your business is related to health, food, clean energy, transportation, or even entertainment! The list goes on.

Moving your business

A lot goes on to moving, especially to California. One reason many businesses don’t take on this opportunity is rather stark: The paperwork is endless. The amount of forms, regulations, registrations, and paperwork seems endless. On top of filling everything out, there are often lengthy waits and hefty fees to receive government approval. It seems kafkaesque, but there are other things to worry about too. We recommend purchasing a nice office chair from www.andaseat.ca while you consider the rest of the logistics in your moving. How much will it cost? How will this affect day to day business operations and the lives of your employees? Many business owners make the mistake of moving somewhere that sounds nice without considering the convenience of their clientele, or even their business associates.

Find companies to help make the transition easier

On top of all that, you’ll need to plan out the basic logistics of moving your business itself. Have you hired a great moving company? Do you know the ins and outs of your moving process? Make sure you’re aware of how long it will take, and how your operations might have to be altered or slowed during your big move. If you’re an industrial company, there are fantastic groups like Northernmat.ca looking to make your transition as smooth as can be. Good luck!

5 Things Your Kitchen Needs To Make It Multi-Use

January 22, 2021 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

Thanks to the pandemic, there are thousands of families up and down the country that are now juggling working with childcare as well as keeping on top of the daily tasks that need doing. Therefore, if this is you, you’re not alone, and you will be pleased to know there are ways that can make this difficult task much easier. One of those solutions is to make use of multi-use spaces, such as in your kitchen.

Why Multi-Use Spaces?

Thanks to everyone being at home, your kitchen is likely to have been turned into a multiple-use zone, where the kids do their e-learning, you do your home-working, hubby does his work, and one or all of you still have to cook every day. These five tips will help you create a multi-use area that is perfect for busy families just like you.

A Kitchen Island

Kitchen islands, if your kitchen is big enough, are a really great idea for busy parents and families! They provide ample space for you to work on food while the kids work on their school work, and they look so good too.

To really make your kitchen island multi-use, don’t put the cooker on the islands, as this will mean less work surface space, but keep your island nice and clear. Have a look at granitetransformations.co.uk for some great inspiration for your next kitchen update.

Pop Up Electrical Outlets

If there’s one thing that’s lacking in older homes, it’s a good selection of outlets! Usually, outlets are located on walls. In kitchens, this could mean dangerous wires trailing while the kids (and you) try to charge laptops to do homework or watch TV.

Pop-up electrical outlets are the perfect solution, and when not in use, they can be pushed back into the island out of the way. Perfect!

Good Chairs or Barstools

You’ve probably found yourself doing more homeschooling than you were planning to do over the last twelve months, and if you’re like many busy parents, you’ve also found yourself trying to work at home while the kids do e-learning?

Make this situation better for you all and your bodies by getting good chairs or barstools for your kitchen and bar. Chairs that support your back and help you sit correctly for those long hours behind your laptop will benefit all of you.

Plenty Of Storage

Kitchens aren’t just places to make food anymore, and even if yours is just a food prep kitchen, it’s likely that you’re missing out on vital storage space that can be used to store all kinds of kitchen gadgets and accessories.

Getting a good variety of storage is important here, especially if you’re storing homeschooling supplies next to the cereal.

Easy Clean Surfaces

Last but not least, invest in easy to clean surfaces. More people at home for longer means increased risk in spilled drinks, pen breakages, and of course, the odd crayon finding it’s way onto your work surface.

Go for a nice granite, stone, or lacquered finish for your work surfaces to help with the clean up after the inevitable disaster that’s likely to happen!

5 Home Maintenance Tips for Busy Parents

January 14, 2021 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

When you are a busy parent, it can make it challenging to keep on top of home maintenance, and it can feel like there is always something that needs doing. Home maintenance is hugely important, and putting this off could lead to costly repairs and a difficult living situation, so what are a few ways that you can keep on top of everything? There are a few handy home maintenance tips that will work well for busy parents and help them to keep their house in good condition while hopefully reducing stress at the same time. Read on to find out more.

  1. Create A Schedule

Creating a schedule is a smart way to keep on top of home maintenance as it allows you to make them a part of your routine and spread them out. It is easy to put off carrying out tasks such as cleaning or DIY projects, but when you write them down, it will be a constant reminder, and you will want to get the work done so that it can be ticked off the list.

  1. Involve the Kids

It would be best if you didn’t have your kids carrying out potentially dangerous work, but there are maintenance tasks that they will be able to handle and learning skills like cleaning and washing will develop their independence and self-esteem. It is good parenting to give your children chores, and this is also a smart way to lighten your load.

  1. Do It as You Go

It can be easy to sit there and think of what chores need to be done and then simply forget about them, which is why you should adopt an attitude of performing maintenance tasks as and when they pop into your head. If you put something in the rubbish and notice that it needs taking out, for example, then you should do it straight away as opposed to delaying it.

  1. Call Out HVAC Contractors

Your HVAC system is something that you will rely on heavily in the home throughout the year, and you certainly will not want to encounter any issues. This is why you should use HVAC contractors Waxahachie TX or those in your local area to perform maintenance and any repairs when needed so that you can keep the system running efficiently at all times.

  1. Tackle One Project at A Time

It can also be easy to get overwhelmed when you think of all the big and small maintenance tasks that constantly need doing throughout the year. Instead of juggling multiple different tasks, try to tackle just one project at a time or focus on one room to make it more manageable and minimize disruption.

Home maintenance can feel like a never-ending cycle and difficult to keep on top of as a busy parent. Hopefully, these tips will be useful and help you to keep on top of maintenance, reduce stress, and keep your home in tip top condition throughout the year.

Resolutions for a Bright New Year

January 7, 2021 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

2021 is finally here, the stage is set for new opportunities and possible futures lie in wait to be ardently explored. If you are feeling like you want to put the year of the pandemic behind you and take away the positives going forward, it might be worth your time to consider some resolutions that you and your family can adhere to, in order to realize a bright new future.

Self-improvement is a subject to bear in mind for those of you who wish to make a change in your lifestyle, or even continue on your journey towards an optimistic objective.

Here are some ideas to consider for the following year.

Staying Connected with Family

Family is important and to many people, wanting to stay connected is at the top of their list. Showing your family that you are thinking of them is a great way to ensure that you offer support, whilst in turn receiving the help you might need from your loved ones.

Organizing a regular catch-up is useful in many ways, such as keeping up to date with your family’s wellbeing. Designating a date for this to happen, whether it happens to be weekly or monthly, gives people something to look forward to.

Spontaneous gifts can also let people know that they are on your mind. It might help you to remember a time when you received a gift that you did not expect and how good it made you feel. Beautiful and indulgent chocolates from mozartkugeln can be a great option for those of you who appreciate a refined sense of class.

Starting a book club with your loved ones is a fantastic talking point. It enables you to stay connected whilst at the same time ensuring you keep reading. Reading more often can help improve your mental dexterity and your understanding of a diverse range of cultures from around the world.

Getting Fit

This is probably a common resolution for many people. Perhaps this year is the ideal time to start getting fit and healthy, as the increased likelihood of having to work from home has meant that paying more attention to your physical wellbeing is paramount.

Following a set fitness routine might work for you if you find it difficult to know when to start. Keeping your goals in sight can help you maintain your motivation and your inspiration, so keeping a diary might prove beneficial for this.

Adopting a Positive Outlook

Staying positive can be undoubtedly tricky when it seems like you are constantly stuck at home. Instead of focusing on the negatives, it might benefit your mental health to think about all the benefits that come alongside your circumstances.

Whether it might be the opportunity to spend more time with family, or the chance to nurture one of your hobbies, adopting a positive outlook can reflect on those you interact with, brightening not only their day, but yours as well.

Allowing Yourself Excitement

It is also vital to remember to allow yourself to feel good! Taking the good subjects for what they are and how they make you feel can work wonders in the long run and in doing so, may very well lead to a brighter new year.

A Workable Guide to Welding Containers and a Recommended DIY Project Idea for Your Backyard

January 4, 2021 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

Have you ever driven around your neighborhood during the weekends and come across garage sells with containers on sale?

Now, if you are like me, I am pretty sure you wondered to yourself, “Why on earth would someone go through the trouble of selling containers?”

Well, if you have a backyard and have been trying to find a DIY project for your garden. Then keep reading on, I will explain to you a reason why you need to get your hands on a container or containers that are up for sale the next time you stumble upon a garage sale.

What can you do with Containers?

If you are looking to start planting potatoes or any other vegetable in your backyard, you could consider nurturing them in containers.

However, you need to keep in mind that you won’t find brand new containers in garage sales. Otherwise, what would be the point of purchasing a used container, when you could simply make a trip down your local hardware store and get yourself a brand new one?

The majority of containers in garage sales have split ends, and more than likely will require you to join the split ends by way of welding.

Here’s some good news for you, if you are passionate about preserving the environment, you could consider reusing these disregarded containers and put them to good use by welding them.

This is because once plastics are taken to the junkyard, they tend to pollute the environment since they aren’t biodegradable.

On the other hand, if they are shredded and reused, it often wastes one’s energy. So, the better way to put split plastics to good use would be through plastic welding.

How to Weld Plastic

It would help if you remembered that you don’t need a certification to make your DIY welding project a success. With careful research online, you can stumble across writeups such as this one that can help you get them done efficiently.

  • Step 1.  The first step towards ensuring a successful result in your DIY plastic welding project is finding a plastic welding rod covered with a non-heat conductor handle, and heat the rod. Once the material is heated for about 30 seconds, you can proceed to the second step.
  • Step 2. After heating the plastic welding rod, your next step would be to join the two split ends using the heated piece.

You go about this drawing the hot material from one split end to the other.

Your goal is to melt the plastic, so it bonds together.

You need to note that the material will tend to cool off after a few seconds, so you will need to ensure that you put it back in the flame to continue tracking your welding up and down the container’s split ends.

  • Step 3. Once you are done with welding, you can fill the container with whatever you need as good as new.

How to deal with holiday stress

December 16, 2020 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

I don’t know about you, but as much as I love the holidays, I also find them to be incredibly stressful. Stress is hard enough to deal with as it is, but feeling stressed out at a time when you are meant to be enjoying yourself is so much worse. To top it off, we are in the middle of a pandemic, making life that much harder on all of us. Despite all the stress, we can all still have a wonderful holiday season. Here are a few ways to deal with holiday pandemic stress.

The first way to deal with holiday stress is to let yourself recognize that it’s okay to be stressed during the holidays. It’s disappointing that you can’t just feel completely happy at the holidays, but it’s unavoidable. Allowing yourself the space to recognize your feelings can help you cope with stress. Try to shift your thinking so that instead of feeling disappointed, you can accept that things aren’t perfect, and begin to focus on what you are grateful for. Doing this can help ease your stress and help you enjoy your holiday season more.

Another way to deal with holiday stress is to plan to do something fun and holiday-themed with a friend or family member. The pandemic has limited what we are all able to do, but you can still celebrate the season safely. Watch a movie with roommates. Or do caroling virtually with friends via video chat. You can also send out holiday cards with your family. I like getting my cards from Basic Invite. You can use pictures from a pre-covid trip for your cards. Or take a few pictures in your house instead. That would really capture the pandemic spirit, and would be a ton of fun. However you plan to celebrate the holiday season, be sure to enjoy yourself.

A final way to handle stress this holiday season is to do activities that help you relax. Try yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises. If you feel that you really must get out of the house, try to go somewhere you’ll be able to social distance properly. Try taking a walk or a run in the park. You can also drive around town and look at all the Christmas lights. If you live near a drive-in movie theater, you could go out and see a movie. Failing that, you can always eat out at a drive through. Getting out of the house or trying calming exercises can really help with stress. Just relax and try something that sounds interesting to you.

Even though it’s difficult to deal with holiday stress, you can ease your anxieties by relaxing, having fun, and recognizing your feelings of nervousness. I hope you and yours have a wonderful, calming, holiday season.

This Is How You Can Keep Your Baby Safe at All Times

December 14, 2020 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

Around 2,000 children under 14 years old died after a home injury.

We want our little ones to be safe whether it’s crawling around the living room to having a safe journey in the car. Perhaps you’re baby-proofing your home and are worried about missing a major hazard.

Sound familiar? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Here’s how to keep your baby safe.

Baby-Proof the Bedroom

The first step to keeping your baby safe is ensuring they have safe sleeping habits. Your baby should always sleep on his/her back because sleeping on their stomach increases the risk of sudden death syndrome (SDS).

To protect your baby, avoid buying soft bedding that could suffocate them like blankets, stuffed toys, and pillows. All you need is a firm mattress covered with a tight-fitting crib sheet so avoid cluttering their sleeping area.

Further, make sure the crib slats are at least 3 inches apart so your baby’s head doesn’t get stuck and vice versa. As a general rule, if you can easily fit a soda can between the slats then it’s not safe for your baby.

Keep their bedroom at room temperature so they don’t overheat and get a baby monitor so you can tend to them if they cry. Check out these baby monitor reviews for inspiration.

Secure the Nursery

A useful baby safety tip is securing the nursery to prevent accidents. Although babies find them soothing, remove mobiles that have stringers longer than seven inches as your little one may sit up and yank them. To protect your child when you’re changing diapers, buckle them up on the table so they don’t fall.

You should also regularly inspect your baby’s toys. Make sure that they aren’t sharp and can’t come apart otherwise they’re a choking hazard.

Promote a Safe Bathtime

Make sure you have a safe baby during bathtime by taking the right preventative measures.

You must never leave your little one alone in the bathroom especially if there’s standing water in the tub. Babies are naturally drawn to water because they want to splash around but this is dangerous because they could drown in even a few inches.

Before putting your baby in the water, test the temperature by dipping your elbow into it. The bath water should be just above 100 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent chilling or burning your little one. Further, store electronic appliances like hair dryers or radios so they’re unplugged and out of reach.

And don’t forget grooming products. For instance, lotions, oils, or shampoos can be toxic if your baby ingests them. You should also store sharp items like razors or curling irons in a cabinet with a childproof latch.

Practice Baby Safety in the Car

Avoid buying second-hand car seats because they may not be fully safe especially if it’s already been through an accident. Choose a federally approved car safety seat and read the instructions so that it’s properly installed.

Note that until your baby is two years old, the car seat should face the rear of the vehicle and keep it in the middle of the back seat. Further, never leave little ones in the car in the summer because babies heat up almost five times quicker than adults.

Baby-Proof the Kitchen

Kitchens can be potentially dangerous for babies so gate off this room or keep a close eye on your little one when you’re in it. Avoid handling hot foods, drinks, or crockery near your baby because it could scold them.

Because babies love to grab things, only cook on the back burners on the stove and turn pot handles away from the edge.

If you’ve got a dishwasher, invest in a robust dishwasher lock, point all sharp utensils down, and only add detergent just before you wash a load of the dishes. Be wary of your other cleaning supplies too. Make sure they’re in child-resistant packaging and stored out of reach of your little ones.

You should also learn how to safely feed your baby. Never prop up your baby’s bottle or leave your little one unattended with it because they could choke. Further, avoid giving your little one raw carrots, nuts, or other small bits of food that could be a choking hazard.

And when your baby is in their high chairs, properly strap them in so they don’t slide out.

Other Precautions to Take

Examine your home for any safety hazards. Parents should install guards or stops so windows can’t open more than three inches and place security gates at the top and bottom of the stars. You should also cover outlets with sliding or box covers instead of plastic plugs because babies can easily pull these out.

Use brackets to secure your furniture and TV because they could topple onto young children. You should also consider putting cushions on table corners to prevent any accidents.

If you’ve got a fireplace then section off the area and store matches, lighters, and other sharp tools in a locked cabinet.

That’s How to Keep Your Baby Safe

Hopefully, this article has taught you how to keep your baby safe around the house.

Our homes are riddled with hazards so evaluate every room and spot potential risks. You must baby-proof the bedroom, nursery, kitchen, and bathroom so your little one stays safe. Further, follow the right practices for sleeping and feeding your little one. Good luck!

The Symptoms And Treatment For Decayed Teeth

December 6, 2020 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

Tooth decay can affect anyone at any time, especially young children that have a high sugar diet and the decay is caused by sugar turning into acids that erode the tooth enamel, which over time, will cause a tiny hole to appear on the tooth enamel. This will grow if left unaddressed and it will reach a point where you can feel the cavity with your tongue. The best solution is to book an appointment with your local dentist as soon as possible.

Symptoms of Tooth Decay

The symptoms of tooth decay include the following:

  • Toothache or sudden pain around the decayed area, as the nerves are exposed.
  • Extra sensitive teeth, especially when consuming hot or cold food and drink.
  • Visible holes in the teeth.
  • Black, white or brown staining of the teeth.
  • Pain when you bite down.

The reason people should have a dental examination every few months is to detect issues such as tooth decay and an early intervention obviously results in less damage.

Potential Treatments For Tooth Decay

Of course, there are numerous ways to treat tooth decay and they include the following:

  • Filling– If the decay has not reached the pulp, then the dentist can fill the cavity with a composite material. The cavity first has to be cleaned, drilling out all the decayed material before filling the cavity.
  • Root Canal Treatment – If the decay is extensive and has affected the pulp of the tooth, the dentist can clean out the root and replace the material with a sterile substance that will preserve the integrity of the roots and it might be that a crown needs to be fitted onto the damaged tooth.
  • Dental Implants– If you are looking for dental implants in Sydney or in your city, a Google search will help you locate a nearby dentist and he or she would first have to examine you. The dentist will take a few X-Rays to determine if your jawbone structure is adequate to receive the titanium pins that are screwed into place. The titanium pins bond very well with human tissue and bone and after 10-12 weeks, the pins should be solid enough to provide an anchor for a prosthetic tooth.

Time Is Of The Essence

Tooth decay does not stop for anything and the longer you leave it before seeking treatment, the worse the decay will be. If you feel a slight hole in one of your teeth, you should immediately schedule an appointment with your local dentist, who can carry out suitable treatment before the problem gets worse.

Children

Children that eat a lot of sweet things are more likely to suffer from tooth decay and therefore, you should monitor your child’s diet, while making sure that they see the dentist every few months. The dentist has special tools that allow him or her to check all teeth for signs of decay and they would poke around, checking that all the teeth are free from decay.

Good oral hygiene practices are recommended, as this reduces the risk of suffering from tooth decay, with brushing and flossing before and after sleep and after every meal.

Why Data Science Is the Fastest Growing Career in the US

December 1, 2020 by Miriam Dunning Leave a Comment

According to LinkedIn, data science is one of the fastest-growing jobs in the United States. This growth can be attributed to the fact that people are starting to look into jobs of the future as automation and technology start replacing different roles. With reports and publications continuing to name data science as one of the top jobs in the United States and around the world, it is important to look at why this is the case.

The Application of Data Science Is Expanding

Data scientists are no longer only responsible for using their engineering skills to analyze and help us understand data; they are also being used in other areas. A common area is in business where data scientists are becoming an integral part of the decision-making process.

The insights they glean from the data they collect and analyze are being used by stakeholders to drive business decisions in these digital times. This is why institutions like the Merrimack College are offering Masters of Science in Data Science degrees, which you can apply for at https://onlinedsa.merrimack.edu/data-science/. These courses combine data science skills with business skills to cater to the expanding roles of data scientists and arm them with the requisite business skills required in today’s workspaces.

We Are Creating More Data Than Ever Before

Today, we are creating about 2.5 quintillion bytes of data a day. For each data entry point, companies need to understand it and what they can do with it. For example, they may want to know which social media posts had the most likes and shares. Due to the explosion of the amount of data we create every day, the demand for data scientists with the skills to analyze it and make it more digestible will continue to increase.

Data Is Changing the Way Businesses Operate

Machine learning, which overlaps with data science, is a type of artificial intelligence where machines and algorithms learn and evolve and can be used to make decisions. Machine learning is everywhere and more businesses are using it to make correct decisions based on past data. By doing so, they can save time and resources while making their decision-making processes a lot more efficient.

The Growth of Startups

Startups are everywhere, and with technology startups infiltrating almost all industries, data scientists are critical for the early-stages. Data scientists are not only required for the tasks that strictly fall under data science, but also in business analytics, machine learning as we saw above, and database maintenance.

For these startups, data scientists are taking over and replacing traditional roles like statistical, economic, and revenue projections.

Data Science Is Solving Some Major Challenges

Artificial intelligence, data science, and robotics are being used to solve some of the challenges we have not been able to solve with traditional tools. Data analysis, used with predictive analysis, is being used to tackle childhood obesity, food shortages, and to predict how much risk a person is at for certain diseases and conditions like cancer.

There is no doubt that data is all around us, and there is a need for data scientists who can do something with this data to make our world a better place, help businesses make better decisions, and help us take on some of the most stubborn challenges we face today.
